Truckee High School Yo Bro Club

In January 2024, The Truckee Roundhouse launched an exciting new welding program with a Truckee High School club called Yo Bro! Six students worked on a community service project for six weeks: designing and building a bike rack for the Town of Truckee.

The club was launched in 2023 at Truckee High because COVID-19 left many of our local youth without direction and headed down negative paths with long-term consequences. The club has become a place where these young men can find support from each other and positive paths that will lead to brighter futures. All genders are welcome to attend and thrive.

The club’s facilitator approached Truckee Roundhouse with the concept of the welding program as many of these teens are interested in exploring hands-on career options for their futures. We know this is first of many community service programs to come from the Roundhouse - Yo Bro partnership.
