Truckee Roundhouse 2024 Year-End Reflections
Holy wow, 2024! Witnessing how Tahoe Truckee comes together to be creative is a continued joy and honor. We feel extremely lucky to have such a supportive, inventive, and artistic community. We are a small but mighty staff of two, super boosted by our team of 45 regular and dedicated volunteers. As we mature as an organization, I find myself working more behind the scenes, building important relationships to ensure that we can continue to support our community with the space, tools, teachers, and mentors to empower and transform lives.
Someone asked me recently: What does success look like at a makerspace?
Success at the Roundhouse is so many things, but here are a few of my favorites for 2024.
Holiday Block Party 2024 | December 12th 4:30 - 8:30PM
Head to the Holiday Block Party at the Truckee Tahoe Airport’s Nonprofit Row on December 12th from 4:30pm - 8:30pm to find unique holiday gifts for the special folks in your life. For the fourth consecutive year, local nonprofits Sierra Community House, Truckee Roundhouse, and Tahoe Food Hub are collaborating to host this festive holiday shopping extravaganza. The free, family-friendly event blends holiday fun with organic produce, specialty foods, over 25 local makers, activities for kids, live music, two bars, and Mogrog Rotisserie and Moutain Lotus food trucks, where attendees can meet local makers, growers, and, of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus (brought to you by the Truckee Chamber of Commerce!).

Truckee Roundhouse Launches Monthly LGBQIA+ Craft Workshops in 2024
In our continued efforts to be an inclusive and safe space for all makers in the community, the Truckee Roundhouse Community Makerspace will launch a monthly workshop series geared at engaging local LGBTQIA+ makers starting February 2024.
2023 Year-End Reflections
In the harried frenzy that the holidays and yearend brings, it is important to pause, exhale, and reflect on what an incredible year it has been for the Truckee Roundhouse.
